The Land Project Manager will be based in the United States, report to the North American Acquisition Director and will be responsible for transactions in the Americas portfolio. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to improve and expand our infrastructure in various markets.
The Land Acquisition Team is responsible for the delivery and pre-positioning of Data Center real estate needed to build out Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure. The types of projects include land acquisition and pre-development.

Support Land Acquisitions team in managing transaction deal flow, including ensuring that all relevant data and associated documents are tracked and kept updated.
Support real estate transaction processing and administration for fast growing and ever-changing business needs.
Assist with site selection process, financial analysis, site due diligence, market data and determination of sites meeting region’s portfolio standards.
Assist in implementation of a relevant system of metrics to plan, manage, measure and evaluate performance pertaining to the transaction process.
Effectively communicate expectations, requirements and status of deals to key stakeholders and business partners – both internally and externally
Help coordinate an ever-changing variety of internal initiatives and projects.
Continue to build a culture of speed, flexibility and frugality with all business partners.
Closely collaborate with other internal teams such as operations, legal, finance, treasury, tax and risk assessment to help deliver highly successful projects
Coordinate with external partners such as landlords, brokers, developers, design professionals and other consultants.
- 5+ years portfolio management, real estate, or office management experience
- OR Bachelor’s Degree or degree equivalent in Business Management, Real Estate, Project Management, or related field AND 3+ years portfolio management, real estate, or office management experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in transaction coordination in an industrial/commercial or data center real estate operation with a national footprint leveraging a combination of internal and external resources.
Other Requirements :
These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of real estate transaction process
- Ability to effectively communicate internal process requirements to various audiences (e.g. internal and external stakeholders, etc.).
- A track record of coordinating high quality projects in an atmosphere where speed, flexibility, frugality and heavy workload are the expected norm.
- Previous experience as a contract manager.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, internet applications
Real Estate Portfolio Management IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 – $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 – $195,000 per year.
